Afaia, Products with History Pistachio trees were brought to the island of Aegina in 1860. It was a time when cultivators were facing financial recess due to a widespread destruction of vineyards. The fertile ground along with appropriate climate conditions was favorable for the cultivation of pistachio trees. Over the years, families became involved in this prosperous agricultural activity.
